Smooth Your Strands: Unlock the BenefIts of Hair Conditioning Treatments

As winter approaches, it's important to consider how the cold temperatures and dry air can affect the overall health of your hair. During the cold weather months, many women experience issues such as dryness, breakage, and split ends. To prevent these issues and keep your hair looking its best, it’s important to use conditioning treatments on a regular basis.

Conditioners provide your hair with a protective layer of moisture, which helps to prevent damage from the cold weather. A good conditioner should include ingredients that help to lock in moisture and nourish the hair, such as proteins, vitamins, and essential oils. This will help to keep your hair looking healthy and shiny, even in the cold winter months. They also help to close the hair cuticle after having color services to make your color last longer.

We recommend having a professional grade conditioning treatment done every 6 weeks or so at your salon appointments. Professional treatments contain a higher level of protein to repair the hair. This is not something we offer as take home because too much protein can damage your hair. Instead, your stylist will create a personalized treatment for you based on your hair texture and needs. Then they'll recommend take home products to keep your hair in great condition until your next visit.

It’s a good idea to use a deep conditioning mask once per week in addition to professional shampoo and conditioning products. This will help to nourish the hair and restore any lost moisture. Deep conditioning treatments are great for helping to repair damaged hair, as well as providing an extra boost of hydration. By taking the time to use conditioning treatments on a regular basis, you can help to protect your hair from the harsh elements of winter and keep it looking its best between salon appointments.
