Permanent jewelry is one of the newest and cutest trends! We love the idea of tarnish-free jewelry that you don’t ever have to worry about taking off. Plus, it’s a great way to add a little sparkle to your wrist, ankle, or neck, and, trust us, this summer everyone will be sporting it! 

So what exactly is permanent jewelry? 

Permanent jewelry is just a fancy name for jewelry that is welded shut so you never have to take it off. 

The process goes like this:

1. You pick your favorite chain—these range in thickness, style, and metal type (either 14k gold filled, or sterling silver)

1. The chain is measured and matched to wherever you’ll be wearing it (wrist, ankle, neck, etc.) 

1. Optional: You can add a charm (or two, or three, or four!) to your piece of jewelry to give it a little extra sparkle and meaning 😉

1. The chain is connected to your wrist, ankle, or neck via a jump ring (a little “O” shaped piece of metal), which is then safely welded shut (this is where the “permanent” part comes in!)

And there you have it—a piece of jewelry that never goes anywhere! You don’t have to worry about getting it wet or losing it. 

But if you do decide you’d like it off, you can simply clip the jump ring with a pair of wire cutters and save the chain for another time.
